Concept: This was a Typography Level One assignment. The goal was to create a magazine layout from an article of our choice.
I took the assignment as an opportunity to visually test idea I had been sitting on, Amazon Prime Sustainable.
In addition to the magazine layout, my goal was to capture a style and color palette that would entice a conversation. Something from Amazon that was familiar while incorporating something new. Color, assets and marketing as a translation or positioning of business development.
On a deeper level the business concept and marketing mock up was a tool taken from psychology. Shifting consumer appetites by product placement and use of celebrities as a familiarity principle. Also called the mere exposure effect. A psychological phenomenon by which people develop a preference for things because they are familiar with them.
I am aware of the lack of diversity and will change that moving forward.
Feedback: Class recommendations included:
1. Consistency font style with brand no cursive for Bezos,
2. Consistency of page layout page two missed it,
3. Being aware of type leading and not breaking words right side of paragraph columns, and
4. Keeping an image and asset source document I added that.
